At Bio Town Biogas you have the opportunity to join a team that is focused on renewable energy. Our operation includes an anaerobic digester that recycles animal waste and other organic by-products to produce methane gas. This gas is used to either power generators to produce electricity, or it will go through a gas upgrade skid to produce natural gas. We are one of the most unique waste recycling renewable energy producers in the United States.

Our Energy Center currently has an opening for an Electrical Technician. This is a day shift position with an 8am-5pm shift with occasional overtime. We are seeking candidates that are self-motivated, trustworthy, have critical thinking skills for problem solving, and can work in a team environment. This position will be a member of the team that is responsible for achieving metrics that relate to equipment availability, cost, and continuous improvement.

Profile:

The primary purpose of this role will be to maintain daily operations of the electrical systems onsite along with some offsite equipment as well. This will include AC and DC systems along with PLCs and HMI systems in the plant. This includes but is not limited to biogas engines, gas recirculation blowers, compressors, water pumps, solenoids, etc to prevent or minimize production downtime.

Outline of Duties:

  • Maintain control systems, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, HMI systems across different locations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs from work orders within the maintenance system.
  • Ability to size and run new wire pulls and tie in to existing electrical panels.
  • Learn other areas of the business to support anaerobic digester performance. Maintain cleanliness and other company metrics.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, repair and replace PLC control systems, VFDs, relays, digital/analog inputs-outputs, electrical contacts, motors, generator components and controls.
  • Comfortable with 1Ph and 3Ph power up to 480V.
  • Can also work on equipment to repair mechanical issues as well.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in technical field or 3 years’ experience in similar field.
  • Individual will have a positive attitude, good work ethic, and can work well in a team setting or autonomously. Candidate must be self-motivated and performance driven.
  • Good critical thinking skills for troubleshooting problems along with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Electric troubleshooting skills through PLC and 24V relay systems
  • Can read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints.
  • This position will be on 1st shift, and will periodically require overtime.
  • Must be able to take on-call rotations for weekend coverage.
  • Mechanical skills for assisting with other maintenance tasks desired.
